Achievements

Working in partnership means lots of different organisations and individuals contribute to improving life for people in Derby. As with most team work the end results are often greater than what could have been achieved in isolation.

Derby has been identified as one of the Uk’s economic hotspots, growing at a faster rate in wealth creation than any other city in England over the last ten years and ranked as second in the UK for employment growth. QUAD
QUAD is Derby’s centre for art and film and provides a gallery, cinema, café bar and workshops that anyone can use. Since QUAD opened to the public on 26th September 2008 over 150,000 customers have been through the door. Also the centre has recorded its millionth hit to its website.    Read More...
Smoke Free Derby Strategy
Smoking remains the main cause of preventable ill-health and premature death in England. It is responsible for more than 370 deaths a year in Derby with one in two smokers dying of a smoking related illness. Family Justice Centre
More than 130 victims of domestic violence and abuse have visited the countries second Family Justice Centre since it was opened in Derby. Since opening in June staff have helped 133 men and women who have turned to them for advice and support. Tracy Arnold, domestic and sexual violence unit Manager at the Derby Community Safety Partnership, said that on the first day of opening there were people knocking on the door of the Centre first thing in the morning. Tracy said "we had alot of people contacting us, coming directly to the Centre when we first opened. There has been a very positive response to the Centre and we have dealt with lots of different people, both men and women".    Read More...
